We are excited to announce that our next tasting evening will be taking place at Daddy Bao on 29th April. Following on from the success of our sake tasting last year, this intimate event will centre around whisky, in collaboration with Nikka Whisky.
Our development chefs have dreamt up a whole new menu for the evening, designed to compliment the flavour profiles of the whiskies and cocktails being served. An expert from Nikka will be on hand to take you through the flavour profiles and answer any questions.
For £74 for the pescatarian menu or £78 for the normal menu, including all paired drinks, the full menu on the night will feature:
Nikka Days Highball
Roasted edamame with thyme, honey, chilli and soy

Taketsuru Pure Malt
Turbot Usuzukuri
Kombu seaweed cured fish, pickled chanterelles, yuzu and grapefruit peel

Miyagiko High Ball
Katsu pig cheek or octopus tentacle
With black garlic and walnut tonkatsu sauce, Jerusalem artichoke katsu curry, cabbage and pear slaw

Crispy Vegetable Gyoza
With whipped tofu, sesame and crispy chilli oil

Yoichi
Grilled sirloin or miso Japanese aubergine on pearl barley in a whisky cured egg yolk sauce.
Served with hispi cabbage in a miso butter, sesame and black vinegar dressing

Nikka from the Barrel Old Fashioned
Whisky and yuzu savarin cake
with whisky lemon syrup and creme fraiche

Whisky-candied ginger
